LANDING ON THE MOON…

2033 is going to bring a LOT to this world we have never seen before. VR and AI will have changed the landscape of business and lifestyles forever, the biggest project plans for smart cities will be nearing completion, and most reading this will be in their 30’s ☹. WOW.

I’m the type of person that sees trend predictions like these and daydreams about how that will play out in our world. What needs to happen to bring these things to life? What will the ripple effects be? Where will I fit in here, and how can I position myself to be at an advantage? I learned to look at these macro trends in one of my last classes at LMU. The class made me fall in love with our world and learning about the people and systems that drive it. Everything is in constant change and as a person living in that change every day, we are constantly re-evaluating ourselves and how we move ourselves into the future with our best foot forward.

Part of putting your best foot forward is having mini goals to keep you on track to reach your ultimate goals, whatever those may look like. I have some personal goals this year (self-care routine and time to learn something new every day) and some professional goals (revenue + distribution states for LÜM, build a side hustle, become a lifeguard lol). For beyond, I want to use the skills I gain operating and growing LÜM to help me grow and scale biotech, cleantech, and/or space companies, or be a part of investing in the future of those industries.

I’m not sure if this fits with everything else that a Citizen should write, but it’s important to note that while I may share things that I want to do or accomplish, I have no idea what the next 10 years will hold for me. I feel like a lot of people looking beyond college or looking at their young careers think they have to know everything or have it all figured out. In entrepreneurial terms, I believe it’s better to be a lean startup at this point, not a full business model.. in regular terms, just roll with the punches and keep iterating on aspects of your business or life that you want to improve on. It’s a really hard thing to do, but if you stop caring about how a failure may look, you’re able to make mistakes, learn, and adapt much faster than if you’re bogged down with worries about messing up and failing. The quicker you fail, the quicker you learn.

I’m excited to see what 2023 and beyond has in store for me and this community. I’m humbled to be part of this group and any Citizens or newcomers reading this article that don’t already know me, I would love to connect and learn about all the great stuff you guys are up to. And if anyone is looking for drinks !! You know what to do, lol. Thanks

An entrepreneurship graduate of LMU and an ex D1 baseball player, I love competing in just about everything. My ultimate goal in life is to impact the world in the biotech, cleantech, or space field- so naturally while working out how to do that, I started an alcohol company! I love meeting people and making connections through LÜM, and eventually I will apply the skills learned through this venture to change the way the world uses energy. Until then, I’ll be sippin a LÜM trying to figure it out. Cheers!
