SUNROOF STORIES…
My name is Nick Minutaglio, but I go by my artist name Dazy. 2022 was a wild year for me in a lot of ways, but I think the most notable thing was the launch of my music career. I was fortunate enough to have a song of mine go viral on the Internet resulting in an entry into the Billboard Hot 100.
The song, called “Sunroof”, eventually peaked at number #4 on the charts, as well as #1 on Pop Airplay among other radio charts. This recent success was completely unexpected, and in a lot of ways I was given a crash course in having a music career and dealing with all of the complications that come with it.
Looking to the future, I am developing the skills and responsibility that will allow me to maintain a productive and consistent career in music. I would tell my 12 year old self that it’s OK to be uncertain about the future. Don’t rely on the validation of others in order to keep going. Most of the things you try actually won’t work out. But if you keep trying, eventually one thing will stick.
